| Small scale modelling. Small scale models are another of my interests, just built this one it is a 2 inch span model of the Pitts Special, construction was really fiddly and the fuselage and transfers had to be added before the wings were assembled, this one is a monster by comparison with some others in my collection,I have a Vickers Viking airliner to 1 inch span,I will get som,e pictures if anyone wants to see that one as well ?
The skill is in the painting with 000 brushes which have to be carefully cleaned.

| | All Round Modeller | Nice work Barry....very fiddly to do at this scale but looks great all the same, I used to do stuff like this years ago but moved on to bigger easier stuff.
The small stuff is certainly a credit to anyone who can do it and a real measure of patience and craftsmanship...if that is the right word...!! ie real dedication needed to produce such good results.
Regards......Mark |

Regards......Mark | *** Thank you Mark, the hangar is built up from a card Corgi item given free with one of their models, the control tower is the good old historic Airfix one suitably painted up,the backdrop is an artists canvas painted with acrylic paints as a cloud effect and propped up against some books, the base is cereal box, nothing fancy but the overall effect is there,I will post another model shortly for you to enjoy.
Photographing your models gives us another interesting angle setting up scenes that look realistic, and now that we have the digital camera revolution,it is instant results, the depth of field is just ideal for model tabletop photography.

Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer built from a basic Aeroclub vac-form,not for the timid the parts are merely thin plastc vacuum formed conponents which have to be re-worked until everything fits, you lay a sheet of abrasive paper on plate glass and sand until everything has a good mating surface and fits properly.

Colours represent the aircraft used by the Empire Test Pilots school at Farnborough.
