1/48th scale car models

I have a suspicion that this might be a lost cause - but here goes! I am looking for resin, card, or die cast 1/48th scale models of late 1950 or early 1960s scale model cars, light vans, buses to use on a car ferry. Anyone got any ideas - or am I going to have to try scratch building them? Any ideas would be very gratefully appreciated.

Andrew

Have a look at these links, they may inspire some ideas:

The problems with the Minichamps cars is that they are metal which may have a ballast impact on your ship and they are 1/43rd not 1/48th.

For a very short while Airfix did a 48th range of cars, they were mostly things like "racing" esorts and the like but might be worth a look?

Howdy andrew,

sorry it took me so long to read your post, but I notice you didnt rule out card models. So, let me give you a few links and tell you abit about them.

http://www.daf.com/ once on page, look for "DAF FUN" header, scroll down to "paper models" and click for this truck, the DAF A2000 1959 . (it should be close to the scale you are wanting, if not it can be "rescaled").

Try this link: http://www.spacestation42.com/pt-trucks.html for older cars like this:

If those are not what you want, try these links:

http://www.spacestation42.com/pt-cars.html about 100 links to paper cars.

http://www.spacestation42.com/pt-trucks.html about 100 links to paper trucks and other larger vehicles like construction equip.

http://www.spacestation42.com/pt-motorcycle.html motorcycles and military models

You should be able to find something in all of these links.

I hope these help,

Have a good day,

greg aka GW
