Question T34/Russian WW2 TANKS Generally

I am starting a new area of a long standing hobby, building scale model tanks. However Russian tanks are new to me so I ask if anybody could give me clarification of the exterior colours used on Russian tanks during WW2 and equivelent references for available paints,Thanks

I've done a Tamiya T34 1943 version and followed the paint instructions of base colour - XF63 Dark green and camouflage - XF64 red brown....on checking out other sites and photos it seems a lot of people use a lighter shade of green. Check out the weathering section on armorama.com

You also need to take into account that if you intend finishing with a coat of matt sealer such as Dulkote or any matt varnish it will tend to make the green slightly darker.
