| If you have a look at the pictures in the gallery I have put the scale in the description.
They are all either 1/6th ( Zundapp, Kawasaki Mach3, Honda Bol D'Or, Paris/Dakar BMW without rider) or 1/12th (all the rest) exept for the vintage Harley which is some unknown smaller scale. |

| Richard those models are AMAZING!
The dakar and rider looks good (even if it is a BM), always was a fan of the old dominator with the gold rims....mmmm!
The FZR really has a nice feeling of motion to it! A half faired RGV too....NICE!
Like richard says i cant see any real blemishes with the models, they all look really nice to me, the paintjobs on the fairings are very good with no viserble drips or runs which is highly unusal as most bike models i see have some sort of "issue" with the fairing!
How did you get the nice sandy mud effect on that model? Ive used the Tamiya mud sticks with some pretty good results but what youve done looks really good!
Tamiya do still make the riders and are obtainable but take ages because the hobby company have to specifically order them in from Japan. Bike wise, i can get you anything from the currant tamiya catalogue if you want? This is the beauty i want to make, comes with nice etched parts too: |

| Charlotte,
Obviously dependant on a lot of things going on at the same time but each of the Tamiya 1/12th kits generally took about a month to make.
Squiffy,
The sand/mud was made with soil from the garden dried and filtered and embedded in contact adhesive, then sprayed with the old little Humbrol mini spray tins, unfortunately long out of production. A shame as I used to use them a lot. The mud on the bike was layers of the same Humbrol tins mixed in with sand coloured paint flicked on with an old toothbrush. |

| The lowrider Harley was actualy another paint job experiment.
I wanted a metallic finish but not like out of a spray paint tin, which doesn't have the proper depth to it. I first painted a coat of silver, then I covered it with about 4-5 coats of clear blue from the Tamiya acrilycs range.
I was really pleased with the final effect which looks like a real metallic paint job. All this was long before I started to use airbrushes so it was all brush painted. |

| I've had the Intruder out most days for trips into town etc. and the VFR quite a few times as well for the sheer enjoyment. I am blessed with being amongst some of the best roads in the country only a few minutes away. One of my favourite rides is over the pennines to Delph then back through Saddleworth Moor and Huddersfield. About an hour so if I have an hour before dinner I get on the Honda and go. All twisty moorland roads, sheer drops and sheep!
Always get back with a grin on my face, the growl of the VFR as I overtake on a moorland corner does it for me every time!!!
If you have any of the old Humbrol mini sprays especially in matt colours I will gladly have them. I'll PM you my address. |
