This is the lastest Nissan Skyline GTR 34 sorry about the picture but it is hard to photograph clear objects. It will be on a Mi2 chassis.

This is what I run round the garden chasing our staffy, or he chases it.

Nice Skylines Jas and Seaspray,

Seasprays shell appears to be the same one I used, mine was the Supersize shell.

Latest news on the Skyline I am doing, it is currently stripped down at present ready for final re-assembly, eveything is being greased and lubricated and the Final Touch will be done very shortly....A Full Carbon Fibre Custom Chassis !!...Will post the pics up as soon as I have cut it.

Car will then be re-assembled and fully ready to go.

Mark.

And getting this thread back on Topic to the original subject, here is the latest update. The original Aluminium chassis is being done away and replaced with a full Carbon Fibre Chassis. Got the sheet from www.carbonology.com and initial marking out in chinagraph pencil is done.
The inner lines are the outline of the old chassis, you see that I have extended the sides outwards (The wings) This is to allow fitment of all the radio etc and a larger capacity fuel tank. Will be masking up all the edges with tape next prior to cutting. This acts as a clearly visible guide to see the edges when cutting the sheet and also prevents any splintering of the sheet as it is cut.

Iain,
That does depend on the thickness of the C/F you use. I am using 2.3mm thick stuff here and it only has a very minimal amount of flex. In fact the original aluminium chassis has more flex than this stuff does so I think that speaks for itself.
You would be surprised at just how strong this stuff is, even in thinner sheets.

Regards....Mark.
