| the cars shouldnt instantly slow down when you let off the throttle. at idle your car should roll freely
is the car bushed or ballraced?
make sure your not getting any brake drag at idle cos if the clutch is just biting and the brake is on it will wear it out quiker |

| | All Round Modeller | Iain,
Sorry If I have confused you there, the car does roll freely at idle, I was trying to describe the throttle response which is superb, the brake is probably kicking in when I slow down but it just didn't seem like it at the time when I was driving it, as the response was very smooth and slowing the car down nicely without cutting out the engine.....Considering I have done very little setting up on this side since building the car, it is working perfectly....I had to do a lot more when I initially set up the Subaru, probably because that was a much older car and had been messed with by it's previous owner who admittedly knew nothing about R/C Models....hence the reason he was selling it.
Regards.......Mark.

| | All Round Modeller | Just a Little Update for you,
Car is still running fine...have now glued the tyres onto the rims at last !!! I didn't glue them at first whilst the car was being run in, it only needed a few tight turns and the tyres came flying off....they are well and truly glued now and a few other very minor adjustments made so the car should be spot on now.
In answer to rjwoods post above, I have managed to track down a nice set of larger wheels to fill out those arches nicely and they are on the way !! The current wheels are 52mm diameter, the new ones are 62mm Diameter....Will post some pics up as soon as they are on.
We did a nice nice drive the other night and got some cracking photos and videos, which brings me to my next point. Anyone know of any good freebie sites where I can upload videos to...??? you can see some of them then.
We also had company the other night, Another guy called Paul racing his Tamiya I/C Engined car, went well and helped Paul out a bit with some useful advice as he asked. He kindly provided me with the pic below which he took on his mobile phone......shows off the neons nicely.
Regards...........Mark

| | All Round Modeller | Latest update,
Car performs very nicely now the tyres are glued on to the rims, no more worrying about tight turns and tyres flying off in the other direction lol, the car handles so much better too.
Night drives seem to be the favourite at the moment as the lights are extremely effective meaning you don't have to stop the fun just because it is getting dark. The Battery for the lights has lasted extremely well so far, they are still very bright now so credits to the maker of those (on e-bay) for top work.... I bought 2 separate sets, the headlight set and the neons set and have wired them together to work off the same battery...very little current drain too !!!
If anyone wants the e-bay address for the lights let me know.
Regards......Mark

That bit is yet to come, was more concentrating on getting the car run in and running nicely, that has all been done so the last little mods can be put on now....including one of them !!
