Yes Steve, I know what you mean, I have seen the prices of a lot of these hop-ups and they can be pricey, where possible I do make my own and will certainly do so for this car when the time comes. I did quite a lot for the Scooby that you can see in the pics above, that was another old car (an early Thunder Tiger DT10) Some parts on the newer version had changed quite a bit....So I modded the old car to make use of the newer parts. This car now goes like Stink.

It's easy when you know how....I already have quite a few ideas in mind to improve the Chassis/Running gear for the Skyline too...none of them difficult to do...will see how the car runs first on the chassis as it is.

Regards.......Mark.

Hi mark i was looking through my old kyosho cat and i find the car you got off e-bay it had quite a few bodys to choose from when it came out, i'm gonna to a little work on my super nitro to get the skyline body to fit when i get it because the way the mounting point on the car will not let the body fit properly plus i need to lower it a bit and fit the bumper from the road going super nitro so i little metal work is needed to fit it.

Hi Steve,

Yes I know what you mean about the metal work, In the pics above you will see the Subaru that I did. I cut a new chassis for this from dural Aluminium plate for 2 reasons, First was to allow for a modified Engine/Transmission set up and secondly to extend the wheelbase by 5mm to allow the Subaru Bodyshell to fit properly. This car came with a 75cc fuel tank but now has a standard SLEC 4oz square tank fitted so running times between refuelling are much longer now.

Good luck with yours and if you get stuck...give me a shout..!!

Regards...........Mark.

No problems there then Steve...that bit should be quite easy for you.

Had 2 days off from actually doing anything on the car but have been working on ideas in the background what to do next etc....spoiler is already worked out and just needs making now. Designs for Headlight clusters worked out, they just need making now and I have got to get some SolarTrim in the right shade of blue for the markings on the bonnet and sides of the car. I checked my stock today and I only have the right colour in Solarfilm....but as you can imagine I cannot iron this onto a plastic bodyshell...!!. Visit to model shop tomorrow I think. Will also commence work on cutting out the engine vents/grilles for cooling of the engine.

In the meantime here is another pic of the Skyline showing off the shine on the paint job together with the original Scooby that I did.

Regards........Mark
