Well here is a pic of the first part of the grille cut out and Aluminium mesh installed. I still have the lower part to do yet but have to do a slight mod so that it is the same as the one on 2 Fast 2 Furious which will also allow for a stronger shell on the front end as not as much to be cut out.

Once all the vents are opened up it should allow adequate cooling through for the engine. On the HPI site they have just cut big holes in the windscreens, although I know this does cool the engine, I think it spoils the looks of the car when static.

The mesh seems to let plenty of air through so far and will do even more so once the rest is opened up.....adds to the scale appearance too...!!

Regards........Mark.

for 12 engines you should run about 16%-20% : |16 - 20 gives you a little more power and should keep it cool cos it burns cold or something

Thanks Tom and Thanks to Iain for the link which I have checked out...
That is a cool idea ....haha cool...geddit..!!! However it does seem a bit pricey for what it is, I can think of a much cheaper more suitable alternative that is readily available in almost any town that has an aquarium shop......yep them tubes they sell for the water/air filters in the aquariums....some of them are identical to this and even come with the scoop fitted and they are only a couple of quid.

Regards...........Mark.

Well the latest on this one is that I have just ordered the LED Lighting set specifically for the Nissan Skyline shell. (someone from this company had already read my mind when I was going to ask about a custom set for this car, they already do it...must have had a few requests for it then...!!!)

The company is on E-bay doing a 10 LED harness powered by a 9v PP3 battery for £12.99p plus 75p p&p......This includes working tail/stop lights and includes the micro switches for the working brake lights.

The pics on E-bay look pretty impressive.....there is no need to bid on this either as it is listed as a buy it now item and still cheaper than some others that I have seen elsewhere.

I have already started some work on the lights so will post pics up soon when the LED'S are in.

Here's the link for E-bay:
