nice models
i think this was posted on my forum i cant remember
but instead of paying 20 bucks for the neons you make your own out of arcylic bar and led's
you get about 6-8 mm acyrilc bar drill about half way stick in a led and put a bit glue from a hot glue gun on it to hold it seems like a good idea? |

| | All Round Modeller | Iain...Thanks for the tip with the neons.
However model shops around here are few and far between these days, There used to be loads of them but they have all disappeared. The one local source that I have known for 25 years who used to run the shop from his house sadly died 2 weeks ago.
My nearest now is Wrexham 30 odd miles away.
Whatever happened to Tandy..?? They used to be great for all this sort of stuff, you could get all the leds, resistors, wires and pcbs straight off the shelf and make them up yourself (as I did in the Apache above). The only thing I disliked about Tandy was their very typical American style selling by insisting on asking for your name and address with every purchase whether it was by Card or Cash.
As for the Tank and the Apache based Autogyro above....Both are in for Refurbishment/finishing off at present.
Regards.......Mark.

| | All Round Modeller | Iain,
Check your local Halfords, they are doing HPI Cars now and do have some spares and Bodyshells for the cars too...!!
My local Branch does...so maybe worth a look. If not in stock they will probably order them for you.
As for the Skyline.......bonnet vents opened up this evening so together with the front grilles this will pull some air through the car to cool the engine nicely.
Talking of which, the new engine arrived yesterday morning, Kyosho GX-12, so will be working on getting that fitted too....Have already got the Clutch and Clutch bell with drive gear fitted...Straight swop from the old engine and it fits perfectly. It's a very nice engine, looking forwards to getting it going.
Regards......Mark. |

| be sure to stick some vents at the back so air can get out or the car might think it can fly
