Thanks Iain,

I hope this car does fly...!!! That's the whole idea..!!

Anyway, here is a shot of the Shark Gill style vents opened up on the bonnet.

Would certainly recommend a mini drill for this job followed by a modellers type needle file and sharp craft knife for finishing off.

Regards.....Mark.

Hi Iain
As Nemesis correctly stated above, there is plenty space at the rear to let the air out...and if you check the above picture again, you will see that it is actually designed to draw air into the car through the front grilles and exit some of it out across the top of the bonnet...out of those bonnet vents...that is the idea behind the design of those vents...to promote cooling airflow through the car but at the same time allowing some of it to escape too thereby keeping the engine cool.

As for a good mini drill..... B & Q do a good one for £15 including 60 piece accessory kit...made by Performance tools, It's the same size as the Dremel, even looks like one and of course Dremel bits can be used with it. It does have variable power speeds on it too....The same thing made by Dremel will set you back £70...!!!
I've had mine for 2 years now and it is a superb tool and of good build quality

You can also get it with a stand and flexi attachment (like the sort of thing a dentist uses) so you don't have to hold the whole drill when doing finer work....these sell at about £25 to £29 (that does include the drill...!!) I am ordering a stand and flexi attachment for mine.

I also still have my como mini-drill as distributed by MFA years ago, that is not as powerful but useful for finer work.

Performance tools appear to be made for B&Q so don't think you will find them anywhere else.
Regards..........Mark.

Had a few weeks off this one whilst ordering new bits etc, This one now has the New GX-12 Engine in and one or two other mods being done, I am looking to get larger wheels if possible, If anyone knows of any good sites that supply larger size wheels I would appreciate a link, I am looking for at least 70mm with tyres fitted...the present ones are 52mm with tyres on.

Anyway the stripes are going on now and the car is rapidly beginning to look like the one from the film...funnily enough the first was on TV last week and 2 Fast 2 Furious is presently on the rounds on Sky TV.

The stripes are taking time due to the double curvature of the Bodyshell but they are coming on now, One side done, the other side should be easier as it is a reverse of what I have already done. The stripes were done with SolarTrim, I have kept the backings to reverse for the other side.

Once that is done...spoiler on next and then making light clusters for working rear/brake and front/fog light assemblies...I have the lights already and they are extremely bright and look excellent.

More pics soon

Regards......Mark.
