Don't think this one will have a chance to sit on the shelf Adzam...Tom is itching to drive it, gonna have to find a new car park to use though as the one we currently use is not really smooth enough for this car. It's fine for the Subaru but the Skyline sits a lot lower so don't wanna shred the bodyshell.

Will be nice to see it running though.

Regards...........Mark.

Just to keep you going, yes this car is now seeing daylight on final stages before going nitro mad.

Here's a little pic to keep you going. The black pencil square on the bumper is now where the indicator lens is fitted.

Regards.......Mark.

Here's the Latest:

Started on constuction of the Headlamp clusters/housings as can be seen in the pic, made from plastic card approx 3/32" thick. Initial shapes were cut from balsa before transferring outlines to the Plastic card.

Took some time to get the parts to fit perfectly bearing in mind they fit inside the bodyshell and there are plenty of curves to follow there too.

This is the start of the right hand housing, the left one is simply a reverse of this and I have the parts already marked out ready to cut.

Notice one of the reflectors next to it...there are 3 of these in each cluster (2 headlamps and one blue xenon type fog) these were cannabalised from a cheapy plastic torch, as seen in the pic....(I am using 8 of these altogether, 6 for front lights and 2 for smaller rear lights, I have 2 larger ones for the larger rear lights)

Once the housings are done the tubes will be fitted to house the reflectors and then the whole lot primed and then chromed using the chrome spray shown.

The Neon led's are already wired up and working and will be fitted into these last.

Will keep you posted.

Regards..........Mark

Here's another shot of the Lights as they are coming on Nicely now, You can get the basic idea of what they look like now (The bit of wood is just propping up the tubes to their right height and level and will be removed once they are glued in place)....The reflectors are only temporarily fitted. Should have the glueing done later today followed by intial priming and then chroming up and proper installation of the reflectors.
I tested one of these the other night with the neon led's fitted....I blinded myself because they are that bright...!!! Those reflectors are suprisingly effective & look so much more scale rather than just an led stuck behind the body shell.

Regards.......Mark.
