As the Red Baron Fokker Triplane model is halfway through its construction ( there are another 50 sets of parts to come yet ) I thought that an update would be in order,this photograph shows the basic fuselage frame assembled up to the seat area,there is still a lot of work to do on the model and I have prepared a special web page on scale-models.net to show the progress so far,all of the internal control runs and pulleys have yet to be fitted but when completed this time next year it should be quite a model.
I will post the link just after posting this,hope that you enjoy the photographs and the written notes as well,it has been a very enjoyable if sometimes flustrating model to build due to the bugs that have been ironed out as the model progresses.

Same story as the nitro truck magazine mentioned on another thread? i.e a price of 400 to 500 pounds by the time it is completed? Be nice if the kit was available on it's own. Hatchette magazines aren't available here, and when I did the costing it scared me off chasing it from overseas.

*** Good morning Kiwi,you will be pleased to know that the model is now available in Australia,we have a few members who are building her down under at the moment,Hachette were slow in getting the model to Oz and you are probably on issue 10 there about this time.
The Hasagawa kit from which the castings and dies are based retailed at £650 over here if you could get one,for me it is a way of building her progressively and spreading the cost.
I missed the S.E.5A kit at a local auction room which went for £50 ! a bankrupt model shop.
There are plans for a part works Avro Lancaster !

do you have a rough idea of the overall size of the completed model ?
just looking at the fittings in some of the pics on your website there , they look very large indeed.

Even my Wife was impressed with your build!!!!!! I do hope that someday I will amass your skill set. Its almost unbelivable from a guy sitting in his basement struggling with a few plastic joint lines and sand paper to imagine building real working models! Thanks for sharing, Jeff
