Thoughts on internal colours for Fokker aircraft.

Although there are no genuine Fokker Dr.1 Triplanes extant in the UK, I decided to find the next best thing to examine interior colours, once in the workshops at R.A.F Cardington was an original Fokker D.7 biplane, which the then curator Ray Funnel informed me that this was the most requested aircraft within the R.A.F Museum collection for students to make a study, this is hardly surprising in view of the historical nature of this fine aircraft, which was eventually placed on display within the museums collections at Hendon and Cosford.
The whole structure of the wings was painted in a matt white finish which resembles a white emulsion, the finish is in fact termed 'Anti-dope white' and the reasons for this is to stop the doped finish from sticking directly to the frame of the aircraft. The ribbing tapes were identical to those on the Fokker Dr.1 and were interlaced up and over the ribs.
There is nothing quite like seeing first hand how machines are assembled and finished, and the Fokker is no exception.
