3 men go into a Motel for a room, the clerk says I have only one room, it's yours for £30.00. The 3 cough up £10.00 each and go away happy. 2 hours later the Manager arrives and the clerk tells him about the room. The Manager says the room is only £25.00,give them £5.00 back.
The Clerk thinks, "how can I split £5.00 amongst 3..??" I know, I will give them £1.00 each back and keep £2.00 for myself....He..HE..!! So now each of the 3 has paid £9.00..thats £27.00..plus the £2.00 the clerk has.......Where has the extra £1.00 gone??????. Enjoy Tony

Hotel has £25 of it, gave £5 to the clerk = £30
Friend 1 got back £1 of the £5 from the clerk
Friend 2 got back £1 of the £5 from the clerk
Friend 3 got back £1 of the £5 from the clerk

The clerk kept £2 which equals £30 so there is no other pound in it.

That reminds me of the other night when I went out to the south bank - bought a pint of beer and a glass of white wine, the barman says that'll be £8.90, I hand over a fresh new tenner and receive the drinks and a couple of coins. Where did the £10 go??
