Exclamation Stop! Please Read

Howdy Guys,

Ok, what I am about to tell you is something that all model airplane buff's should know. Its a link to a site that offers jewels like these for free:

As well as many others WWII aircraft from all airforces both allied and axis.
However, there is a catch........... The owner of the site only releases a few of them at a time, the offering changes approx. every 30 days and he usually offers 3 aircraft at a time. He is just now starting all over from the beginning of his collection with the offering of the above model....again for free!
Please click on this link: http://trotskiy.moo.jp/ , disregard the "download japanese font prompt", you wont need it, NOW SAVE THIS SITE AS A FAVORITE, YOU CAN THANK ME LATER. Iam about to tell you everything you need to know on how to aquire these models.
FIRST: Only the models with the "Pink" caption above them are for download at any particular time.
SECOND: You will need to have adobe acrobat reader in order to download these models.

Ok, to download the models, click on the "PINK" name above the model, this will start the .pdf download. You will be asked for a password to open the file. The password is the owners name...... trotskiy .
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PASSWORD IS IN ALL LOWERCASE LETTERS.

The Models come on a single sheet and the download may take a few minutes. There are no instructions for these models, but none are needed in as much as they are beautiful, but simple.
I have collected almost all of these models and there is no telling when he may stop allowing them to be downloaded, and since he is starting over again, this may be everyones last chance to get the models. (Not that I have heard anything about him stopping, but there is always that possibility).
Even though these are card models and are simple, they are all beautiful works of art and you wont find them any cheaper than FREE. All it takes is a little patience to get them all.
So, please take my word for it and save his link as a favorite and visit his site often, atleast once every 2 two weeks for new downloads.
Below are some photos of some of his other free models:

Now the above photos are of only a few of his models, there are a total of
64 models that he offers. So, if you like historic aircraft and would like to have models of them cheap, this site is the place to get them.

I really hope that ya'll will take my advice and save that link, offers of free models with this much detail dont come around often for free.

Have a good day,

Greg

Tiger, you do come out with some brilliant sayings you know !! that one is a classic.
Greg certainly has a style all of his own in his writing,he would make a first class salesman.
These are super little models,no doubt about that.

Yep,

I will agree with Barry too..Greg has brought a whole new aspect to this site with the Card Models and from what I have seen so far, they are just as good as the rest of the models we build on here. The one's I have seen so far have been awesome.
Nice to see that we are a truly wide open forum encouraging all aspects of model making...and that is what it is all about...!!!
I think we can safely say Scale-Models will be around for a long time yet as one of the best forums on the net..our membership shows that as we are truely international now and not just uk based, looking at our members on here.
That is what I love most...like minded people with a love for the same hobby no matter where you are from....or more importantly...what you build !!!

Regards........Mark.

Howdy Mark, Barry, guys,

Well, being from the US, a country who at one time had an abundance of plastic models (it seems like there are fewer and fewr each yr), Cardmodels have never really caught on in the US like they did in the UK and the countries of Europe. I think that the reason cardmodels were/are so popular in the UK/Europe is that "post WWII", resouces were devoted to rebuilding and there was also the economic impact of the war on those countries. I believe that cardmodels were the cheapest hobby (compared to hobbies like plastic modeling).
And My "reintroduction" of cardmodels to the members of the forum, (whom I am sure had atleast seen cardmodels prior to my mentioning them), was something that was bound to happen eventually anyway, if not by myself, then I am sure someone else would have brought them back into the "limelight" considering the advances that have been made in the production of cardmodels.
I was just very pleased that they were so well accepted, it makes a person feel pretty good to share a hobby and have others express enthusiastic interest in what you are trying to share....and the members of this forum did just that, they showed interest. Alot of times, people will just dismiss cardmodels as "a lesser hobby", and I am sure back in my younger days I would have done the same, but, having taken the time to actually build one, then another and another, really showed me the intricacies of the art, intricacies that were everybit as satisfying as a plastic kit at a time when I was no longer building many plastic kits.
I agree with the statement that this forum is truly international and will be here for some time to come.
I try to introduce as many people as I can to this site. Why? because I feel like this site is similar to the reason I mentioned above....."it makes a person feel pretty good to share a hobby and have others express enthusiastic interest in what you are trying to share. This forum picked up several members from the cardmodels forum, people from all walksw of life from all over the world.
And although I know I have slacked off on my personal building of cardmodels in the past few months, I still keep up with the hobby on a daily basis, I visit this site, and when finished, I visit my cardmodel related links for new models.
I just want to say thank you for the kind words about myself, but I did it not only to share a hobby, but for the feeling you get from seeing people get excited over something you introduced them to...... its that same feeling you get when you give someting to a kid and you see that it was really appreciated. And I can say of all the websites I have ever mentioned cardmodels to, this site was the most responsive.........But then again, we have the best people in the world here for members.

Ok, I have rambled enough and not really sure that I said anything lol, atleast anything anyone else could follow lol.

Have a good day,

Greg

You only have to look at Johnny's Kubelwagon to see that this is not a lesser hobby.

Greg, you have outlined some very valid comments there, one thing is for sure and that is as long as there are model builders out there, then they will remain resourceful to get the models that they want. The hobby is going through a strange phase at the moment due to changes in the market which we have discussed recently here,as you say once kits were prolific in the States with companies battling it out to produce their version of every new jet fighter, the same here as every high street shop, hardware store, newsagent etc had kits of some sort on their shelves, but not any longer as they are drying up and only specialist suppliers can fulfill our demand.
The way that I see it is that whether card, wood, wire, plastic or metal, the true modeller will always find a way to carry on with the hobby, even if every kt manufacturer stopped production now then I bet there would be enough kits in dealers stock- rooms to keep us all busy for many years to come, and just take a look at the kits that are surfacing on E-bay that modellers are selling off and preening their stashe's ? people now realise that even if they lived to be 110 then they will never be able to complete those models,so they are thinning out.
Regarding the excellent card models available then there are advantages in supply,as you have commented yourself there are plenty of downloads available any time, and they are on the increase daily, the advantages in supply any time that you need a model are obvious, you simply download and print them out as needed, you cannot do that with a plastic model !
You could even download plans for small flying models and print the parts onto tackyback film, press onto the balsawood, then cut them out, having tried this it works well, anything that is flat that can be transferred to paper or card or sheet wood, can then be easily reworked and shaped.
Yes Greg you are a true ambassador to the hobby, sharing something great can be a joy,as modellers this hobby is timeless, only the processes have changed, but as long as there are raw materials out there, then models can and will be built up to enjoyed by everyone throughout the world.
