HMS Hood and French Cams flying boat

Hi everyone - I'm new to the forum and a total beginner (although I did make plastic models for many years). But now I have retired, I have two ambitions, both probably out of my reach.

The first is to build a card model of HMS Hood - I saw a photo of one such model years ago and I've never forgotten it. Most impressive. Does anyone know if a kit or plans are available?

The second is to build a plastic card scale model of a 1930s Cams flying boat, but even my own extensive reference collection has come up with very little on these French water birds. Again, advice and guidance would be welcome

Hi Yorkie and a very warm welcome to the Forum. We have a very wide range of interests represented here and a fair amount of postings and pictures to help out any one who cares to have a look through.

Most of all enjoy your time here and feel free to join in with your own experiences.

As for a card HMS Hood, Marcle models do one at:

www.marcle.co.uk

01494 765910

Thier models are regularly advertised and tested in Model Boats Magazine. Check out this link:

As for the flying boat the man to help there is Geedubbya who has supplied a lot of card model plans to us which can be downloaded and made of either card or plasticard. If he doesn't see this drop him a PM.

Hi, this is my first post. You might want to try The Paper Model Store, here is the URL for HMS Hood Models:

I look forward to seeing your model appear on the forum, Ted Briggs ( a survivor of Hoods' sinking, was a personal friend for some years, both in the Navy, and later when he managed the letting of my house.
