1/24th Furniture

Hi all' hope U can help me I'm after some free 1/24th scale cardstock furniture for a diarama. It needs to be a free download as I'm not a prticularly rich person (on a pension in Oz). I manage to build about one model a month whether it be cardstock or plastic this furniture is for a plastic diarama garage scene where it will have a side office & waiting room. Thanking U in advance if U can help me.

Howdy Russell,

Ok........cardmodel furniture huh? No problem! First let me give you this link to 5 Pages of furniture and misc. items, (although they might not be the exact scale you want (we'll discuss scaling in a few minutes).

http://www.3dpapermodel.com.tw/

When you get to this page, there is an option for english, this will only give you english descriptions but go ahead and click it. Then, provided you are on the home page, if you will look down the left side of the page you will see links to various types of card models, furniture is one of the links. If you see something you want, just click on the photo of the model, if however, that doesnt work, the website link will be righ beside the photo and you can click that too (sometimes the pics work, sometimes they dont).

Next, try this link:

http://web.archive.org/web/200112231...furniture.html

There are alot of links to card models of furniture here, juct click a link.

And next, try this site:

http://www.icebergbouwplaten.nl/index.html

Once on this link, click "english" then on the next page you will find links to various card models, Under the heading of "buildings", you will find "Furniture" click on that.

Now all of the above sites are great for not only cardmodel furniture, but for most any card model you could want, aircraft, armor, automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, doll houses, sci-fi etc.. so, you might want to make them favorites.

Now onto scaling a card model, this is the tricky part because what I have always done in the past was print out a page of the model, determine how big it already is and how big I actually want it.
Then using my photo editing program would increase or decrease the size as needed. Usually I build aircraft so I cant really tell you the best way to scale furniture unless you can find a piece that you can relate to an actual piece of furniture.
Alot of times cardmodel designers will state the scale of the model on their work, then its a matter of determining how much bigger or smaller you need it.

I hope these help, they were the easiest sites to get you started in your search.

Have a good day,

Greg aka GW

Howdy again Russell,

I just re-read your post and saw where this was for a garage diaroma. When I saw that, I thought of another card model site you might like:

http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global...aft/index.html

This site contains realistic and ultra realistic looking motorcyces and motorcycle parts. Somewhere on that site there is garage diaroma download that includes upright tool boxes, jacks, tires and other tools. I dont happen to see that particular download, but let me check some of my old postings over at cardmodels.net and I will find the garage diaroma download for you and post it here. But, until then, check out some of the loose engines, and parts on this site as well as some of the motorcycles.

Have a good day and i will get back to you,

Greg

Howdy again Russell,

I didnt forget about you, I am just not getting everything done in as "an efficient manner" as I should today lol.
Today, i have looked up links, painted and completed a model, thought about building another, Blew some steam off at a Hacker, looked up more links, made a few posts, found a few more sites and now I am here lol.

So................. a garage diaroma huh? well remember that i mentioned "upright toolboxes", tires etc... well i found the link for ya. I believe that these models are 1:12 scale which means you will have to make them abit smaller, but 1:12th is a large model so it shouldnt be too hard for you.

Here is the link and below that are photos from the site so you can see the 'accessories" offered:

http://www.yamaha-motor.co.jp/global...kit/index.html

Anyway, you get the idea from the photos. And YES, they are all made of paper printed out from your printer. There are other accessories there, a stand for a motorcycle, a concrete wall and some stand alone tires.

Hope these help,

Greg
