Exclamation Free Model Boat "Lilla Veneda"

Howdy guys and gals,

Knowing that alot of you are into boat making/shipbuilding...well models atleast, I thought i would post a link to a beautifully done model of the "Lilla Veneda" coastal ferry from the Polish Baltic fleet of the 1960's.
This is a free download offered by Digital Navy at Home . The files, photos and helpful build photos can be found at this link: Home .

Below are a few photos of what you will have after you complete the free model:

Kinda hard to believe that this model is made of paper, printed out on your home computer printer. The "glass" is made of clear "overhead projection film".
Anyway, check out their site at the link above , download this model or any of the other free models by them found here at this link: Downloads

Other free downloads include the ships see below:

Above: A mine sweeper and Lightship "Ambrose" free downloadable cardmodels..

Have a good day,

Greg

Howdy Russel,

well i havent built this model yet although I have built the mine sweeper shown above. My little brother now has it. But they are really nice models and ya cant beat the price especially when they look as good as the ship above.

have a good day,

Greg

Hi Greg,

Thanks for posting that one up - The "Lilla" is certainly a very nice looking model, I had a visit to the page on the link you provided too - nice construction photos there too and some other very nice models.

Given the clarity of the parts & construction details shown, it would not be too difficult to build a larger version of this for R/C - made from the appropriate materials of course !!

Regards.......Mark

Howdy Mark,

Well i am glad you liked this model. I also thought that it could probably be used as a base for a RC model build...as you say "with the appropriate materials of course".
I know of several card model ships that more than likely could be used in this manner.
People have been converting the card model aircraft for years using micro motors to make them free flying and even RC models. They have not only used the actual card models for these purposes but also use the plans for the cardmodel aircraft as a base for building "Foamies" which are models built of foam using the cardmodel as a refference. Some of which can be seen here: Motorized Fiddlersgreen Models
.
If you would like to see some other "marine related" cardmodels, let me know and i will be happy to post some. There are free models ranging from United states Nuclear submarines to old sailing ships and coast guard ships as well as luxury liners.

Anyway, have a good day,

Greg

Hi Greg,

By all means post the other models up, I am sure they will provide inspiration for us all on here, always nice to see different subjects. I am already considering getting out the drawing board to enlarge the "Lilla" for RC.....The PDF files have all the info I need to make this into a nice model.

Regards.........Mark

Howdy Mark,

I just posted another maritime related cardmodel, a "Rapid response Patrol Boat" of the Uraguay navy. Check it out it might also be of some use to you.

have a good day,

Greg
