Hercules C130 Well it's finally finished, 8 hrs a day for a week got it done and the hot weather here in my home state of South Australia didn't help as far as the glue was concerned kept drying on me and couldn't use more as it sends the cardstock soggy. The final result of this plane in size measures 25 inches long nose to tail and 32-35 inches over the wings span for all those whoo haven't caught the build it's 1/48th scale and for those who wish to build it, it's an absolute joy to build it has to be as I'm going to do another one but with wheels down next. I for joy coz it is finished but sad in a way as it means I have to find another project.

Howdy Russell, That looks simply awesome I know you have told me about your work with the scouts. I thought i might mention that cardmodels can be an cheap inexpensive project for your group members. Cardmodels arent just trucks and aircraft, there are educational type cardmodels like a trebuchet (catapault), insects, animals, historical structures such as the eiffel tower, world trade centers, and many other architechtural models as wells as some models I have mentioned here in the past like real spacecraft models. I know how kids like things that are flashy such as your C-130 build and there are many models out there similar to it, although not quite as big lol. Again, she looks marvelous, have a good day, Greg

Outstanding! What a behemoth! She's a beast for sure. Almost perfect... just needs a set of Marine Corps markings instead of chair force.

HI greg, sorry for the delay in reply but it's been 38 degrees here in my ho,e state and we're suffering under it, as well as the heat we are now getting power blackouts in the middle of it. Anyway I know about the other cardstock stuff and a couple of the scouts have asked me about it so on Wednesday night (tommorrow our time) I'm going to take a few printouts along for them to have a ook at and try and build at home on their own so there's no embarrassments if they stuff up. Thanks for the suggestion.

| Nice work on the model Russell, Looks great.
I normally see the real things at about this sort of altitude as they fly low past my local beach where I walk my dog (An Australian Kelpie by the way !!) they normally come in low from RAF Valley and across down the Conwy Valley.
I always enjoy seeing them too.
Regards.......Mark.

In my early days as a young man I was a co-pilot in the Raaf reserves and actual sat in the right hand seat of one of these birds that was back in the 70'sand near the end of the Vietnam conflict, luckily for me I never got to go there but many of my reservist buddies did and they are now dying of alsorts of things. I'm planning on building another one but this time it will be wheels down and maybe slightly modified to have the back down as well, but that's another thing and maybe beyond my expertise as a model builder of cardstock planes.
