Thumbs up Free Locomotive cardmodels

Howdy guys and gals,

Well, every now and then, i like to post a free cardmodel that I find on the internet. And, knowing that there are several train enthusiast in here, I thought this posting would be for them.
Way back, years ago, there were cardmodels called "Micromodels", the free locomotives on the following link were designed in the spirit of "Micromodels" by a man known only to me by the name of "Ray".
So here is the link and below that are a few photos of the assembled models.

Now you see why they were called "Micro-models" If nothing else they are great little conversation pieces. And being card models, you can always enlarge them as needed.
Anyway, there are several more located on the site so be sure to check them out and if you have a specific type cardmodel you are looking for on the net without any luck, let me know and I will see what I can find for you .

Have a good day,

Greg aka GEEDUBBYA (GW)

Card models

Thanks for that post Geedubya...

I've recently completed a Finecast Kit of a Schools Class 4-4-0 number 30938, St. Olave's. It's in OO Gauge at 4mm to the imperial foot. She runs well on tight curves on 1st radius, but I had to splay out the front steps, file out the rear of the piston boxes (minimal) and move the cylinder drain cocks a little....

Card-wise, I've used three card kits by Superquick, to make three engine sheds (two-road) and I've next to build a Bus Garage, some Victorian Terraced houses, and some corner shops.
I was surprised at just how sophisticated 'Card-modelling' has become, I have certainly got my work 'cut out'...no punn intended!

I'm no genius as far as computers are concerned, so can I ask any of you good enough to read this... "How do I post my pictures on here?"
I have win XP, Word, Adobe, Nokia pictures suite, but I'm not quite sure which is the best method to post them on here...

HAAAAYULP!!!.......thanks...jules

Howdy Jules,

Well, you are more than welcome for the post. Now onto "how to post photos.
There are two ways to do it in this forum, one is to add an attachment to your post.

(1). If you will look down below the post "text Box", you will see below the "submit button", an area titled "Additional Options". In that area, you will see a long button labeled "Manage Attachments". Click the "Manage Attachments" Button and a new "box will appear, simply click on one of the "Browse" buttons and it will open your computers files. Go to your pictures file or my breifcase, where ever the file is that you wish to upload, find the file and left click on it. The name of the file will now appear in the box titled "file name". Click "Open" to the right of that file name. This will take you back to the manage attachments box and you will see your file in one of the boxes next to the word "browse". Now simply click "Upload" and the computer will do the rest. Once it has uploaded, finish your post if you havent already then hit "submit reply". Your post will be submitted and your file will appear as a "thumbnail attachment" in the post, that can be clicked on to open the full photo.

Now thats the first way to post a picture here. Below is the second way:

(2). The second way is to upload the photo in your gallery. Once uploaded, right click on the photo in your gallery and then select "Properties". A new box will open and you will see a "URL". Beside the "URL" is the photos address on the server, you will need to copy that address to your clipboard by left clicking and holding at the beginning of the address and dragging your cursor all the way to the end of the address. This will turn that address BLUE. Now simply hold down you "ctrl" button on your keyboard and press the letter "c" on the keyboard. this has "copied" the address to your clipboard.
Now Go to your posting and make your post as usual except whne you are ready to insert the photo, look up above the "text box" you are typing in and find a small icon that resembles a square box with a mountain and a Sun in it. Click on that Icon.
Another new box will appear it will have a text box with the letters "http://" in it. Remove the http:// and then hold down your "CTRL" button and press the letter "v", this will "paste" the address you saved to your clipboard into the textbox. then click "Ok".
You have just inserted the Full size photo into your post and once you hit "submit post", your photo will appear as a full size or "resized" (if it was exceptionally large) photo.
Now i know this all seems complicated, but once you do it, its really simple. If you have any trouble, please let me know and i will try to walk you through any part you dont understand.
I hope this helps, have a good day,

Greg aka GEEDUBBYA (GW)
