| AIM-9B Sidewinder Had to make this as soon as i saw it! Unfortunatly i cant seem to find anything else like it out there on the web.
credit must go to Adrian Lamande for designing this card model.
Let me know what you think, its not great. other than a simple borg cube this is the first proper card model i have ever made. Sorry about the photo quality. couldnt find my camera had to use mums old one which isnt the greatest and no form of anti motion blurr.
Im tempted to use this as a basis and make a more details one out of wood/metal/sheet styrine. wadda ya think?

| Howdy richard, The model looks great!, for a first completed full cardmodel, ya done real good . I will have to do some searching but i may know where an aim 120 amraam model is, i just dont remember the scale, but you could resize it since its a cardmodel That is if you would be interested in it. Anyway, the sparrow looks great and as for a "pylon", I think a piece of styrofoam, cut with a hot wire to make the cuts smooth, would work best for a pylon.Just dont breath the fumes from the melted foam....it will kill. have a good night and i will see what i can find, and again, looks great!, greg |

| | Scale Model Member | Let me know if you guys want any photos. I should be able to get some pretty detailed ones without a problem, assuming we have the ordnance around. |

| Howdy guys, This is more or less a note to Jeff, I am not sure who the designer of the sidewinder model is without looking it up again, but I do know that if he stated it was a flying model rocket, then he designed it to fly. Back when I spent alot of time over at the cardmodels forum, I met Eric and Niels , Both are members here and both are designers of flying cardmodel rockets. Eric seems to have dropped off the face of the earth in the last year, but Niels still has his website full of model rockets and the site that Richard got this model from still has alot of erics models. Even the regulus I and II models along with the Snark models were designed to fly using estes type rocket motors. The same applies to most of niels work, I have built a few in the past, but never flown any although i have seen their videos of test flights. Eric truax's Iraqi scud missile model is even designed to fly. Below are the links to the sites where you can find the various models: Niels site: Niels papermodels many free rockets be sure to check out his links page for even more rockets here: Nielspapermodels - links and this site offers the works of eric truax and others (this is where the sidewinder model is located also): DPileggi Now the 1:48th scale model of the regulus II missile was one of Erics prototypes that he sent to me and I "enlarged" from 1:96th scale to 1:48th scale, as far as I know, I am the only person with the file who has permission to redistribute it so if anyone wants it, let me know and i will send it to you via email. Its about 22 inches long assembled and although I have never tried to make it fly, with some modifications I am quite certain it would. Oh and richard, the amraam I found was a rather small model, but you can find it here if you want it: http://hades.udg.es/~giro/pc/aim120.php Have a good day, greg |

| Howdy Russell, Funny you should say that, back when i was married, built my first model rocket to launch with my wifes then 6 yr old son. I didnt know anything about the things at the time, i bought a small one, and the largest rocket motor i could find that would fit it. well we launched it and as it sailed away......and kept on sailing, he said Thats not alot of fun, how will we get it back from outerspace?" We never saw the rocket again, last time i saw it it was heading towards the arkansas riverand was still going up when I lost it. Needless to say one launch wasnt very exciting for him so I had to build more later on lol. have a good day, greg |
