The models are no longer free! You have to pay for their premium server to download. So much for free!!!

Hello, I don't know what the policy of this forum is concerning pirate sites, but on kartonbau.de the link would have been removed because the site contains stolen material from official publishers like Orlik, Halinsky and so on. Yes I know it's great to be able to download free stuff, but hey put the publishers out of business by not buying their products and there will be no more developping and publishing of any new cardmodels. That would be a shame. So if you like the hobby try and buy an original cardmodel.

Ron I don't agree with you I have many a free cardstock model and they are not stolen as you say from official publidhers but put out by these official poeple if they or even ylou don't like that then yoou should not put them on the net to be had for free, at least they are being built. I don't know about John DeMauro's financial position nor do I want to but if like me he is in a position where funds are slim due to being on a Govern ment pension then why shouldn't he like me be entitled to a free model every now and then it's only people like you who want to be paid for your effort by all and sundry who want your models. Well I don't tink it's nessary that everyone should apy some who maybe can prove that they can't afford to pay by say means of showing a Pension card with certain details deleted should be able to get free models, well that's my two bobs worth and I'm stickng to it and I'll conitue to download free models that are there for the taking and the only thing you can do about it is to remove your model but yu will be the poorer for it.

dingo , first of all I am not a publisher but if I were I would sue those russians who put my designs for free on their site without permission. I am certain of it that most of the stuff on that site is stolen. Halinksi , Orlik, Maly Modelarz CFM are all publishing companies. but up to you if you want to download stolen products or not. I find your excuse pretty poor. so if you're on a pension and can't afford to buy a product you go and steal it huh? Stick to the really free models and not to the stolen ones. Discussion closed

Ron U'r right but I do get my models from free sites I do not however get them free the Russian one anymore due to the fact that when I contacted them they freely admitted in a return e-mail that the models where stolen and I did not mention anything about the Russian site in my reply U just decided that that's where I got all my free models from well U'r absolutely wrong most of my free models have come from the free section of Fiddlersgreen of which I'm an e-mail member if they do not want me to have a free model or two then they should not have supplied them but I guess they R hoping that one day which I have also told them I will subscribe all I have to do is save which is wot I'm doing Ron, I think U may have miss -read my writings on wot I do and yes discussion is now closed forever as I do get as U say real free models.

With regards to the Paper Aviation website, it is true that at one time
their Card Model downloads were available for free
but now you are required to purchase a downloading account to gain access to the models.
This is how they make their money.

However, all the card models they make available to the public are acquired through other pirate sites.
Most older models are pirated versions that have already been well circulated.
The newer models are pirated from legitimate distributors.

There is absolutely no model in their collection that they are authorized to sell or even give away.
Most models are copies of pre-printed kits by well known companies like Halinski, ABC, Maky Modelarz, GPM, etc
(These companies do not ever produce digital versions of their models (eg PDF or other image types) which
proves the models are pirated copies.)

Other available models are by online digital sellers like Marek and Nobi.
Most of these guys I know personally.
And they do not allow their kits to be distributed in this manner.

I am not against some personal file sharing between friends
and I support anything that provides promotion for a designer
but as a designer myself, I know the damage a site like Paper Aviation can do
and I urge you to avoid any pirate site like that.

There are plenty of designers sharing their models on their own sites
that would love to have you visit and support them directly.
And there are plenty of free models out there if you don't want to pay for anything.
