agree with you there ole,saw it a few weeks ago and loved it,dont know how accurate it is suppossed to be but it was a good watch, unlike the new nazi invasion of earth in "iron sky" which i watched last night, amusing in places but wont recommend it to anyone.

I've been waiting to see this film for a while now. As you say, there are some great flying sequences and hopefully tells a very important story.

its a film that tells a good story of peoples ignorance towards black people, but they sort of overcome most prejudices towards them, like i said its really really good

Good film if you remove your brain and watch it for entertainment. But if you watch it knowing a little about flying and what can and cannot be done (with WWII technology) then it's a good old load of bull and so typically an american holywood war film in which they saved us and the world as usual (no disrespect intended to and Americans on the forum).

But on saying that. If the CGI action in the upcoming Dambusters remake is anything like this is then it's going to be fantastic

Red Tails is on my list of films to see. They're remaking The Dambusters? I'm not sure if I like the idea. I hope it doesn't turn out like The Italian Job, Planet of The Apes, The Producers etc.
I wish Messrs Hanks and Spielberg would turn their attention to the air war of 39-45.
Not many people know it, but the Fuhrer was a great dancer.

It is being remade by Peter Jackson (who made Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit). He is a WWII buff and has already stated that he will not bow down to Hollywood pressure and cut corners. He wants to make it like it really was, telling the true story/details. Stephen Fry is helping him write the script for it and has said that it will be authentic too. They have already had 13 full scale lancaster models made for the film.

Have a look on google about it. There are a few sites dedicated to watching this production

If you visit Masterton in NZ you can see Peter's collection of WW1 vintage aeroplanes, and some Dambusters mock ups. Have to agree with Allyne regarding the Red Tails film.

The biggest problem they have with remaking the Dambusters is the name of Guy Gibson's dog.

There was a film about the Tuskegee Airmen with Lawrence Fishburne - absolutely superb. The flying scenes I have seen from the latest version are mostly CGI and shockingly bad.
