      Thumbs up Vintage airfix kits...

I made an introduction post (see HERE (Hello from London, England)) back in April 2011. Just after that, things made a turn for the worse for my dad (referred to in the original post) and he died the following June, almost a year ago. I can't tell you where the last year has gone but the modelling enthusiasm that had just been awakened also died.

Today it has been reawakened. I have just bought a pile of vintage Airfix kits while exhibiting Meccano models at steam day being held at Crossness pumping station. The kits are the 1/35 scale military vehicle models from 1976 (I think). These models were also available from other manufacturers and I assume Airfix bought them in (?) and just re-boxed them.

      The models are:

      Bedford QL Gun Portee
Chevrolet 15-cwt Truck and six pounder
      CMP Field artillery tractor
      Dodge weapons Carrier

All the kit parts are in sealed plastic bags inside opened boxes. Of these, The Bedford QL will probably get built/bashed first

I will post some pictures tomorrow once I have had a chance to photograph them. I would be interested to hear what you guys have to say about these models.
