A Serious Question Do Not Generalise Please

Over the past few years. I have come to see the British (English) contingent of our population becoming more and more appeasing! this is to everyone ! we cannot celebrate anythin without it being declared racist or inflamatory!!!!! I work with Hindus Moslems Seikhs and believe it or not a buddist they all think we are crazy!!!!! none of them find offence at our culture. None of themare offended by the flag of st George indeed 2 of my colleagues had them on their cars! I talked to these people and asked them in all seriousness how they felt about 1 the English flag 2 toy pigs 3 our way of life ? to be honest they thought i was taking the p. I have come to the conclusion that we live in a multiculred land where we can celebrate all things from all lands except our own am i being a cynic or just a realist

Nigel there is so much that can be said about this country today, some good and some bad, like many I come from a background that is so full of pride for what has been achieved by our engineers, scientists and technicians,it never ceases to amaze me what mankind is capable of from building a huge block of flats to a massive aircraft or liner, sadly this country has we all know is but a mere shadow of what it was for very many reasons,we have become a nation of assemblers of other peoples ideas.
On top of this we are slowly being robbed of our history for example not being allowed to fly a Spitfire down a main street on a very special occasion, who are these faceless people determined to destroy what we once stood for ? there are so many questions to what you say above, more questions than answers unfortunately,a lot of the problems arise through this materialistic age that we live in,instead of banding together the world appears to be always at loggerheads with one another, however I console myself in knowing that here within us are genuine people with like interests who can forget the egotistical world out there that has become a jungle,at least the world of the modeller holds no barriers, race or creed,I think that we could talk for hours Nigel about so many philosophical aspects of life.

I fear you are right Nigel.

The current batch of legislation appears to 'tidy up' elements of long standing law/culture, eg the business about teachers/little johnny, and "rights" each have. Furthermore society seems to be drifting into a mindless vacuum over resposibilities, it seems no-one is prepared to accept that they each have a duty of care to themselves and each other, it is always "what are they doing about it". An illustration of this is where Police find themselves called out to investigate a neighbour dispute, often involving children, whereas, in the past, a quick 'clip round the ear' to the offender would suffice. Surely it is time to bring the pendulum back into balance?

People should be more responsible and, when occasion demands, should speak out publicly without the fear of being considered politically Incorrect.
