my Paasche airbrush It has been the most versatile thing i have ever bought

I think that my trusty Razor saw would be a contender,lost track of how many major conversions that I have done with that tool,they even cut through brass tube no bother.

If I Has to choose just one it would be the "jewellers" saw, more versatile than the razer saw but not the best at straight lines.

I have a pair of very old, brown tweezers that my father gave me as a boy. I have since purchased many a better pair but they are still the ones I pick up first and invariably use.

Those and my retractable Stanley Knife purchased with my pocket money constituted my original tool kit. I also still have the Stanley Knife and although all the paint has now rubbed off with use I still use it daily.

Richard,tools are like old friends in that you can rely on them,no matter how worn and battered they are,that patina is the sure sign of many hours of reliable use.
Many good old tools are easily purchased at car boot sales for a fraction of what they cost originally,whenever I see abrasive files I simply cannot resist buying them,non of the modern ones stand up like the older ones which seem to go on and on,a quick rub with a wire brush to get rid of the debris and they are ready for more work.
The Swiss needle files come in so many shapes and grades and ideal for modelling.
You just seem to know which tool is exactly right for the job,treasure them as they are priceless.

mine would be the stanley knife and sand paper because these are the most important tools to make the model straight and smooth

Mine would be a small craft knife I use and also my tube of Squadron green putty, covers a whole heap of problems

Come to think of it the craft knife is probably the most essential item anyway from which to build a model,so it is a good desert island choice.

Hello all, just to make you all a little envious I have the un-enviable work position of "tool knowledge" whereupon I buy and sell all kinds of hand tools, power tools and machinery. No I do NOT want to swap with anyone At least when something new and interesting comes on the market I can justifiably ask for a trial sample from the manufacturers, OK I still have to buy it but what a difference an introductory discount makes.
As to my all time favourite tool It really has to be the "Fein Multimaster" not something which you come across everyday but I'd never be without one on the bench. Use it for Shaping , cutting, sanding, polishing in fact any multitude of tasks even down to miniature profiling.
