This is interesting-Live stream ATC.

http://www.liveatc.net/

I dont know if this is a new idea ? but found this fascinating, livestream Air Traffic Control from around the world, what with the increasing number of airport webcams in operation, you can have your own virtual airport in your own lounge.

My wife Ingrid was an Air traffic controller. she was at L.A.T.C looking after all the Heathrow flights inc Concorde She has a good few tales to tell. Previously she was in the R.A.F stationed at Valley and a few other places
My brother in law is still in the Raf he is at shawbury but he is one of those silent types that get called away to do secret stuff all over the world, You should see the impliments in his Bergen!!!!!!!!

Nigel I have the utmost respect for any of these people who work in ATC,how on earth they keep up with the pace staggers me ? imagine the demands on yourself working to such precise rules with other peoples safety at stake,I just do not know how they cope with it as a job every day ? there was a programme about ATC in America a few years back,it certainly was an eye opener as to the pressures on these people, dual runways, military overflying traffic and helicopters working their own lanes underneath the jets taking off.

*** I knew that you would be interested John, see where they are asking for people with scanners to join in the ranks, this has just got to take off in a very big way.
There are also an increasing number of airport webcams now installed above control towers worldwide.
Check out one here at Shoreham-

Nigel,

RAF Valley is not to far from me (about 27 miles) Had many a happy session in the Sergeants and Officers Mess there when I used to live nearby in Trearddur Bay (Very cheap beer !!!) and my cousin is now an instructor there probably teaching those same 4 F.T.S. Guys right now.

Regards.....Mark.
