| Now lets see Richard W,does that mean you are legless ? or that you are down to ground level with the desk ? I am just trying to visualise the scene ?

| I am sure it was the thought that counted!
I just have this picture of you sat on a stool with a desk top sat on your knee, trying to hold it all steady while you make a model.
Sorry strange sense of humour! |

| Legs or lack of.. Hello all, why not come up with a weird alternative for legs? My suggestions are 1, use up all of those old video storage cases and glue them together or 2, take the collection of platic kit boxes an do likewise BUT not glue them .
cheers

| Spitfire cockpit detail. Well made a start today on the Spitfire cockpit, after researching I found about a dozen interior shots, everyone differed in some way, once more very few were not very clear for modelling purposes, stuck at it and found this very old MoS picture published in wartime,it shows more than enough detail and at 1=48th a lot will just get lost in the small scale, but it is enough to add the essentials,so get out the scrap wire, foil and sprue and be a real modeller and accept the challenge, the easiest way to make the instrument panel is with scraperboard obtainable from art shops, you just scratch the dials through with a needle mounted into a chuck, the chuck can be a piece of dowel and the needle stuck into place with cyno, once the dials have been scribed a few dabs of clear varnish simulate the glass, knobs etc can be made with tiny blobs of PVA adhesive applied with a pin, seat can be made from pizza tin base folded into shape, for the rivets just press gently with the pinhead, trim wheels can be made from sprue of suitable diameter chopped off, fuse wire is excellent for all of the pipes etc and then suitable painted, great fun to see what can be achieved with everyday junk, and it can be done. Spitfire cockpit.

| It's amazing what you can buy on the Internet, this is a great site for reference as it shows a lot of original parts and thought it would be useful www.spitfirespares.com |
