Howdy Guys,

This is my first posting here although I joined back in march of 2005. My name is Greg Worsham, I use my initials as a username about everyplace I go....ie GEEDUBBYA (GW). I am from Pine Bluff, Arkansas in the USA and I am a senior machinist at a transformer factory...not the robots, I am the reason your power goes out. (ooooooooooh now you know who to blame huh? lol).
I have built models since I was 5 or 6 yrs old and I am 41 now.
The way I found this site was actually kinda strange, I recieved an email offering a "flying model" of the b-2 bomber from some company, and was curious about the model so I went to google. Well, while searching google I came across a free download of a paper model of a piper cub from www.fiddlersgreen.net . I downloaded the paper model, cut it out and assembled it.
I was hooked, for yrs I had been building all the models in my area, going to other towns and buying what they had (plastic models) and the paper models offered a whole new selection of planes (and other topics like spacecraft, trains, ships like the USS Nimitz etc..) for me to build. And these aircraft were all free! I just download them and print them out and build them.
Well, I havent forgotten my "roots" and after finding www.cardmodels.net forum I went in search of a plastic model forum and here I am. I havent build any plastic kits in awhile, been mainly designing and building paper kits, but I still enjoy the smell of airplane glue and the feel of cyno-acrylate esther between my fingers lol.
Anyway, so I am here today looking around again to see whats going on. I noticed a thread on building the concorde here, and I built a model of it yrs ago and currently have a paper model of it on my computer along with tons of others. I can say that building the paper models have given me new insight into plastic models.
But I am considering hitting the local hobby store here later on this afternoon for a plastic kit.
Its nice to meet all of ya'll, and I will talk to you later and post pics of whatever I build.

Have a good day,

Greg aka GEEDUBBYA (GW)

Howdy Roy,
I havent built any from the jet propulsion labs yet, I have built some from places like http://www.lansbergen.net/eng/index.htm which has tons of space launch vehicles as well as a few from http://www.currell.net/models/ which also has some space launch vehicles and the V-1 and V-2 missiles. and this site has free downloads of space launch vehicles of all types as well as others just click "gallery of models" on left http://lhvcc.rustproductions.com/egiftshop/ .
I recently built the Regulus I sub launched "cruise" missile in paper made by a good friend of mine, Eric Truax over at http://www.highflyingcardsbyeric.com/id23.html , he has it, and two of my simpler paper models on the above page for free download along with the iraqi and russian versions of the scud missile. The Scud as with most of his models are actually "flyable" as model rockets, but make really nice static display models due to the detail. I am more of an aircraft, armor and missile person.
I realize that most modelers here build plastic models, or those made of wood, but I think anyone who would try their hand at card models, (they are still "scale models" after all), would really enjoy themselves. And the cost, well you cant beat it! I print mine on cheap photo paper that I can get for about $4.00 per 25 sheets.
Now please dont get me wrong with what I am about to say, I am by no means trying to detract modelers from this site, but, the card modelers at www.cardmodels.net share a common interest, scale models, albeit, in paper at that site. But, I am sure that if a person was to visit there, and see nothing but the "photo of the week" which is currently a US halftrack done in paper, you would be amazed at the quality and detail that can be achieved in paper.
Again, I am not trying to detract ppl from this site, merely sharing a somewhat different "version" of scale models with ya'll.
I have a list of between 80 and 100 links which all offer free downloads of paper models, and about as many actual models downloaded on my computer. They range from WWI and WWII era aircraft like the spitfire, B-29, B-24, the mosquito and WWII subs, to post WWII aircraft all the way to present day jet fighters and bombers like the B-58 hustler, the B-1 bomber, B-2 Bomber, F-22 raptor, harrier, F-15 etc...
If you or anyone would like the list of links or might like to try their hand at a free downloaded model I have (I avoid passing along bought or commercial models for copyright reasons), but, If you think you would like to try one of my free downloaded models I would be happy to see what I have that you might like and Share my list of links offering free downloads with a brief description of what is found on each link. Just email me at [email address]
But before I go, here is a link with over 1000 free downloads of any type paper model topic you can think of. If you recieve a "prompt" to download chinese or taiwanese font, just click no and then choose your topic from the list on the left of the page http://www.3dpapermodel.com.tw/
Anyway, have a nice day, and I am including some more photos of some of my other models that I have built in paper.
Greg

I am about to start building a wooden model boat (from a kit), and as I have no experience in this, thought I would check out a few model building forums. Did a search on Google and came across this one.

So Hello, to everyone

Sorry for the delay in getting back!! I have very limited internet access at the moment ( BT and I have fallen out ;> ) I found this site through Google, whilst looking for plans for my current projects - Vosper MTB, and Mk. 5 Spitfire ( DeAgostini series ( Soon to be a Seafire ))
