I surfed through web looking for marine glossaries and decided to look into modellers sites. Yours was among the first GOOGLE showed. Moreover, here I came across the glossary being compiled by Bunkerbarge. Very good job!

And you are in St Perersburg wow!!!

A very warm welcome to the Scale Models forum where I hope you will find plenty of usefull information and resources and a freindly bunch of characters to help you along your way.

I assume that you are into steam boat models so I know that there are one or two usefull threads for you to have a look through. Feel free to add your own experiences and pictures whenever you want.

You wil have to tell us about the modelling scene in St Perersburg and how it compares with what we experience in other parts of the world.

I look forward to reading your postings and thanks for the encouragement with the Ship Terminology thread.

Hi rwallbanks and a very warm welcome to the Scale Models forum. I hope that you find something of interest here and benefit from the pictures and resorces we have available.

The Badger model is actually quite an old model made from a kit purchased from Grenwich Marine models, now sadly closed down. I have not been able to obtain very much in the way of information apart from an old magazine article and a couple of sets of old plans. Consequently my model is a bit of an interpretation of what i think it should lookm like in many ways.

Nevertheless I enjoy sailing her very much and she is actually a very manoeuvrable boat with loads of hull space for a nice big battery so she'll sail for a couple of hours.

Thanks for the welcome Bunkerbarge!
It's good to be here.

I am going to "lurk" around a bit and get comfortable with how everything works here and then I'll share some of my builds with everyone.

I really enjoy being able to commune with others in the modeling world and I am sure I will enjoy this forum.

I look forward to "seeing" you around here.

Russell

I am sure that you will find us a freindly enough bunch who like nothing more than chatting away about some modelling issue or another.

We seem to have representatives from just about all types of modelling and find that even a newcomer such as GW brings a whole new dimension to us in the form of card modelling.

We look forward to your input.
