Have you tried Silent Hunter? The '2' version is available in Aus for $10 which is cool. The 3rd version is heaps better but a tad pricey. Here's a video clip from the game that shows how realistic it is.

Magpie,

I have just done my first patrol in a Type VII C after amassing the points in earlier subs in the career and it is such an amazing game to get amongst a convoy and disable as many as possible with torpedoes then finish them off with the deck gun.

The whole game is stunningly realistic and very absorbing but you do need a fast computer as the graphics are superb. Go into the overview mode and follow a ship down as it sinks or watch from above a cargo ship as your u-boat shoots at it, amazing. Highly recommended though for anyone with an interest in u-boats.
