| First and foremost I'm neither a lord or a master, I'm just a regular guy that started this for
What do I get? first of all not very much time at the moment to partake in the forum banter, but I do try and read every post, the main things I get from the forum are as said above, support, friendship, a place to share ideas and gain a lot of knowledge from some of the most friendly and experienced people I've every had the good fortune to meet, well in an Internet way, I guess it's an "E" meet |

| Hey Nigel,
A sense of 'Deja-vu', didn't you post this already?
Most of what Nig said, plus some spelling practise!
Mostly just saying hello to a great community.

| Think of how many people that you know who live near you that do modelling of some sort ? not many I bet ? well that is the thing with hobbies and interests they tend to be spread far and wide across the country, world, add to this that we are just ordinary people who share a common interest, the chance to do this outside of the net would be pretty remote but here we have the ability to share the things we enjoy most, but that is not the end of the matter because as long as we have people like yourself ( yes you there reading this ! ) our modelling will be enhanced 110 % and once more we can all get our daily fix of fun, entertainment, enjoyment and above all comraderie that we share worldwide,it is truly a family of friends, model builders and above all some really knowledgeable and nice people.
I feel proud to be part of Scale-models.

| Thoughts off the top of my head:
1) Contact with an incredibly diverse group of people who all share a common interest.
2) A level of freindship I would never have thought possible with a group of people I have never met before.
3) A great sense of belonging.
4) A buzz out of sharing my many years of experience with others and sometimes helping them to do things better.
5) Continuously learning new techniques and ideas that I can incorporate into my own modelling.
6) A tremendous pride in knowing that I am a part of such a freindly and harmonious group.
7) A degree of contact with normality when I am immersed in work for three months at a time.
8) A source of humour when I am getting a bit bogged down. I only have to look at Tigers latest avatar to be cheered up.
What a powerful thing the internet is!!! |

| | All Round Modeller | I think Bunkerbarge's post above has summed up nicely what I also wanted to say...I have been making models for quite a few years now but still have learnt a few tricks along the way from here...the latest being the Applying Decals Thread......just goes to show, always something new to learn and I am very grateful for the advice and willing to try out the ideas....Likewise if anyone is stuck, I am only too pleased to be able to try and help.....that way we keep the hobby alive and enjoyable for all of us....It's nice to have a place where we can all pool our ideas together for the benefit of everyone in the Hobby regardless of what models we make.
Regards.......Mark

| Not been here long myself, but i really appreciate having somewhere to ask all my stupid questions!
I've been given loads of great advice, learned alot so far (compared to what i knew when i bought my first model!), got loads of encouragement, inspiration looking at other peoples models...the list goes on....but its nearly 3am and im knackered so i'll leave it at that for now!
Great forum, dont know what i'd do without all the help! |
