Ive made a new site

Hi all,

ive built a new site and was hoping you could all have a look and let me know what you think. Its my first proper website built from scratch so your thoughts would be appreciated. You can find it at:

http://www.kingstonuponhull.scale-models.net/index.htm

Just a couple of things, first the pictures arn't showing I've looked at the source code and all the pics should be in a index_files dir, that's not on the server, also I've noticed one of your pages is called HMRS.htm some webservers are cases sensitive (like this one) always name your files, pics etc in lower case, you will see what I mean if you try this
http://www.kingstonuponhull.scale-models.net/hmrs.htm
or this
http://www.kingstonuponhull.scale-models.net/HMRS.htm

It also makes it easier if your telling someone a url you don't have to explain what letters are upper and what are lower case

God.. you're ugly looking

Heh..heh.. Only Joking Steve.

Personally, I'd get rid of the Red in your main page as it can be a strain on the eyes trying to read the text within.

As someone who taught Web Design to beginners, I was also taught to use contrasting colours i.e Dark backgrounds - Light Text or Light backgrounds - Dark Text. I prefer Light backgrounds and Dark Text

Other than that its a good start. Keep it up.

Declan

Hi 5th,

Thanks for your input, I cant understand why your having problems with it - im not saying its your fault, obviously its not but noone else has said that. Anyone have any ideas why this might be?

Steve

Everything showing this end SS,you just need to get loads of gen and photographs on there now to fill the pages.
Best of luck with it.

well done mate its very good as dpberry said use a different colour then red as it does strain epoples eyes. also what i have done on ourscalemodels website is hyperlinked the pictures so you can see them full size. mabe doing that will show more detail in your pictures. But In all it is very good and no problems here. well done.
