The French deserved to loose after the appaling way the fans behaved after Zidane was sent off.

Apart from which I have a lot of time for the Italians and none for the French!!

I once knew a young engineer many years ago who could rattle of a great list of British military victories over the French. Impressed the hell out of me.

If you want a smile read an account of the battle of Agincourt and how the arrogant French gentry really shot themselves in the foot by appalling military tactics and not beleiving the British could move as far and as fast as they did.
