The best way not to get people to bid is not to advertise it, you will now have brought it to a lot of other peoples attention that may not have seen it in the first place

...and the great beauty of it is that now we know just how much he wants it the value has just gone through the roof!!

Nigel, good luck with it but I have found in the past, to my loss, that if you really want something badly, get a big bid on it now and don't mess around. If it goes for more than you were prepared to pay for it then so be it but get the bid on. I once wanted a boat, waited to see how the bidding was going then couldn't get to my computer for the finish of the auction.

I would put on as much as you are willing to part with then go and have a pint until it's finished!!

You can't actually see Nigels maximum bid. You can only see what is currently required to be the winning bid.

The only way is to put a large bid in, see what was required to outbid Nigel then retract your own bid. Not that you got that from me!!!

I think you would be unlucky to find anyone else who wants it as badly as you so you may well get it for a good price. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
