Howdy Tiger,

Just in case you are interested, here are a few of the links to a few of the free downloadable models from FG:

J3 Piper CUB
http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/AC/airc...-Cub/J3cub.php

GEE BEE Racer
http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/AC/airc...cer/geebee.php

space shuttle

FG HOT AIR BALLOON

WRIGHT BRO'S GLIDER (1902)
http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/AC/airc...der/glider.php

SPLIT ROCK LIGHTHOUSE
http://www.fiddlersgreen.net/buildin...rock/split.php

Anyway, you get the idea. Again if you need links to free models from other places, please let me know, I know of the locations of models of most any subject you can think of (maybe not specific models like USS RONALD REAGAN, but I can find ya an aircraft carrier if thats what ya want, or model helicopters or formula 1 race cars, old sailing ships....you name it and I probably have a link to it).

Have a good day,

Greg

Hi folks

Thanks a lot. That was of great help.
By "Cardboard" i meant paper planes. That is no Engine , motor or battery. Only paper work and plastic. we have got a dimension restriction of

Entire length - 10 inch (tail to nose)
Wing span - 12 inch in total.

wht are the other parameters that can be taken under consideration ?

Thanks
Anand.

I can vouch for the Wright Flyer, she really does glide well across the lounge, these Fiddlers Green models are a real gift,Anand you will do well to download them for your competition,at least everyone will have equal chance to pull off some good flights.

You could set a maximum wing area,or perhaps it would be fair to keep to a set area to give everyone a chance ?

I think one of the best ideas is to give the entrants a pre-determined set of materials. They all have to make the best use of them but it allows them to be creative whilst stil maintaining a fairness about the whole thing. That will also automatically set the maximum dimensions and weight of the model.

As you say barry a couple of sheets of card/board/foam etc and a set of basic tools and see what they can come up with.

It reminds me of the old fashioned motorcycle production races 'Proddy Racing' of the seventies.

All the riders took a key out of a helmet and that was thier bike for the race, with all the bikes being identical. Basically it had to be stopped though as it became obvious that the guy who won was the guy who took the most risks and got away with it! It was very exciting racing though!
