Oh well
Meeting at Canterbury today at 9.30 so i had to leave at the crack of dawn in order to get over the Q.E Bridge . Peed down all the way. Then found the meeting was all about the conference on Tuesday (feedback its called) What a bloody waste of time Still finished at 12 so quick check of the concience and shot off home for an early one Had a chance to chill out before fixing Ellie's VCR then cook dinner now hopefully a hour or 2 modelling

A day off for me as good lady went for lunch with daughters, decided to use the time usefully and go and visit old friend way back from the aircraft preservation movement days,he runs a draughting and floor layout business in a £500 a month small office,he puts this to good use also as his book library which he moved from home,so in his spare time he can enjoy his hobbies,we mulled about old times over a cuppa and biscuits with me sitting in the directors chair with the sun beaming down onto my bald patch, boy you dont realise what we baldies have to put up with, landing grounds for flies, knock our heads on hard objects,we havbe no cushioning you see ! you can laugh wait until you are old and bald.
Anyway after two hours went for a chat with the lady in my local art shop, they were busy framing pictures, loads of them, brought a couple of tubes of artists paint and said goodbye.
Went back home for a cuppa and fed the two siamese beauties which had a real fuss, one loves sitting on my shoulder and purrs away like a tiger.
Planned the evening meal, never run short of ideas and as I am the master chef run the kitchen,it all seems to go down well anyway so cannot be all that bad.
Time to put the trickle heater on in the garden workshop shed, just keeps the dampness off the tools during the evenings,we get a lot of ground mist living near to a canal it swirls over the fields and encapsulates everything within a few miles radius.
And before I know it good lady returns from a girlie day out.
Thats my day what was your like ?

They'd have a lot more to complain about if it didn't get hot!!

Today, played around in the workshop for a while getting batteries charged up ready for Sunday and started to try to fit the new couplings to the U-boat that I made on the ship. The originals were rubbish and badly out of balance.

I also fitted the figures to the tower except for the last one that remains to be painted.

Then lunch followed to a trip to see the guy who is making some furniture for me but he informed me the wood still wasn't properly seasoned yet so they may start next week.. You can't rush these things. I am having a unit made for the lounge from South African Railway sleepers, eventually!

Then B&Q for the lamps that have blown in my absence and finally home to continue playing with the U-Boat. Annette did a nice dinner so we had it in the dinning room and then we watched "As good as it gets", which is probably one of the best movies of all time. If you haven't seen it you should, then again to catch all the neat little lines you missed the first time.

That's me for the day, a last half an hour at the computer and off to bed.

I like the way these blogs are going,it gives an interesting insight into our every day lives apart from our modelling activities,Nigel now this was a 'good' idea !! so take a pat on the back,in appreciation I am going to close this message and make the thread a sticky so please folks support this venture.
I see that October 17th was the national blog day and the information will be stored for posterity in the national archives,it will form a time capsule for generations to come to see the way we lived,so how about these blogs performing the same function for our own hobby interests here ? it would be lovely to think that future historians could look back and see the way we lived in the 21st Century as model builders.
Doing a blog is not at all difficult and we are not looking for perfection either, just put down what you did that day so we can all as a modelling family share each others interests, virtually anything goes and if you can throw in some humour as well then that is even better,we all need to smile and laugh, life can be just too serious sometimes,so come on now please support 'Nigels best' !

Maskol contains ammonia Richard as the carrier which goes straight to the brain, here is a tip to prevent this happening again from the girls in the printshop, rub Lavender oil on your forehead before you use it,you will then have no problems, you can then model in peace and tranquility.
