| Welcome back Charlotte. I hope things are settling down a bit for you. I am sure that times must be difficult for all members of the family and a lot of stress will come to the surface during times of such a sudden loss.
We are all thinking of you and wishing you well. If you ever feel like getting anything off your chest just let us know.

| I was invidulating a year 9 design and technology exam earlier today. The paper consisted of three parts, food technology, graphics and mechanisms.
I was a little suprised by some of the kids, a few hands raised up halfway through the food technology paper, the question was to list 4 different food groups along with the vegetable and animal source they are found in.
One particular student had written protein and wasn't sure what was meant by the animal source. I pointed at the example in the paper, the student then struggling to think of an animal source said "what like -dog??" another student had written "bread" and wasn't sure if bread was an animal or not!
This wasn't really that suprising a couple of weeks back i heard a couple of 6th form students (17 years old) talking to eachother. One of them said "I don't like drink milk" the other said "yeah if you think about it - you're drinking cows pee!"
The mind boggles...

| Hi Char,
I'm pleased to hear you have no allergies, that must be a considerable relief for you.
I have been taking any opportunity to get out on the bike, save the model bashing for the rainy times.

| hrrrrm, been trying to sort out my book collection and get it packed up for moving house (35 boxes thus far!). Tried to get some work done on my Eskimo's rigging but after two hours elected to play with her in the bath instead (ballasting).
Not looking forward to shipping my model boat collection to the states...im moving out there full time in september... god help the movers if they damage any of em! Im prone to acts of primal rage when they get so much as handled wrong, the smaller ones im not worried about but the Deans kits are more of a problem. might have to build some pine and chipboard carry cases for em.
anyway, thus has been my day so far...sleepy time awaits.
Regards
TF57.
ps. Alergic reactions are a major pain in the backside... personaly im alergic to Blighty in the summer time (hay fever). For some reason i dont get it in the states which is rather weird! |
