If only my action men had kit like these!

I was looking on the web for images of scale AFV's trying to get some ideas of how to make a finished vehicle look as realistic as possible, maybe ideas about how equipment is stowed on a tank, tow cables etc.

I came across the site these are posted on and was looking at the second shot of the Tiger, thinking...

...hmmm how's that part look so scale?

Then I realised the solution to getting those really crisp fine details, make it 1/6th scale...

It's an Armourtek model and the site is some guy from the film industry who is obviously doing "quite well for himself"

anyhow I thought i'd share some of the images, as a child I never knew such joys existed as 1/6th scale tiger tanks...my action men would have moved so fast!

Here's the website -> LINK

Beautiful and I notice the lights are on. As you say though making them so big does make it a bit easier to add the detail!!

Yep, Making those sort of fittings at larger scale is easier and more satisfying when they come out right. I still have one or two bits and bobs to do on my tank yet but they are turning out nicely.

My Tank (Panzer V AUSF G) It is already covered on a couple of threads on here with pics too so you can see what I mean.

Here is the Original link : http://www.scale-models.co.uk/showth...?t=1545&page=2 (German Tanks and Prices)

Regards....Mark.

Those Armourtek models are all purchased as a kit of parts too, super detailed and super expensive with cast and machined parts. They even goes as far as making the special square head bolts for attaching the grills over the tops of the radiators. Still very nice but probably quite a large investment.
