Bargain for the R/C Modellers out there !!

For those of you using 27 Mhz channel R/C Sets,

It is always a problem when turning up to the model boat pond or local car racing area and finding someone on the same frequency as you, unless you happen to have a spare set of crystals that is. Even then, there is a good chance someone may be using that Frequency as well...always handy to have a few spare sets.

Average price for a pair of Crystals I have found ranges between £4.50 to £8.50, plus postage costs if you order them mail order or online.

Now here's the Bargain, Your Local Halfords is stocking X-Mods mini R/C cars, the cars are very small but they use standard 27 Mhz radio and of course the standard bands. They also do a Crystal set with 6 pairs of Crystals, all on split frequencies on bands 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12. The Crystals are exactly the same type you fit into your current radio...ie the same size and fit.

And the Price..??? £14.99.....absolute bargain for 6 pairs of crystals !!

If you buy them online they will cost you £18.50 plus postage as can be seen on the link.

I saw them and immediately bought a set to keep as spares for the Model Box.

Regards.......Mark.

I have two yachts, both with their own 27 meg radio and both on the same crystal, which just happens to be the same as another guy at the pond!!

These are a gift and I have just bought a set, I might even give a pair to the other guy.

Tried a store last night but they were sold out, they are listed at £6.99 on the website (also sold out).

I will keep trying though ....

Thanks for the reply James,

Just out of interest, which site did you see them on for £6.99..??
The link I posted was for the Official X-mods site but I have no doubt they will be found cheaper elsewhere.

Regards......Mark.
