    BA nut and bolt sizes

    Hi all

If anyone can tell me or point me to web site showing the dimensions of BA nuts and bolts I would be extremely grateful. I have searched, but come up empty, and as I am trying to do my model boat all in scale, the proper size bolts would be a nice finishing touch.

    Hi All,

Im new on this forum and will take a while to find my way around.

    In answer to Don's question.....

You can find all the thread dimensions for BA and other screw types on: -
    http://www.britishfasteners.com/threads/index.html

For all BA hex sizes, just multiply the screw OD x 1.75

A table of AF sizes for spanners, including BA hex, can be found at: -

    www.sat.dundee.ac.uk/~psc/spanner_jaw.html

Hope this is of some help.

    Best regards.

    Don, Hi,
Did u ever get a reply to this ?? I am after some nuts/bolts 1mm across the hex flats. A cheese head bolt would do as long as the nut is hex. I can go to 1.1 mm max

    Cheers

    Hi m8

I eventully got some stuff from here, Welcome to Modelfixings but most are round or button head. I have yet to find anywhere that does proper hex head bolts in tiny sizes.

If you have better luck than me please post where you found them.

    :) Don

I don't know how much detail you require but roughly the widths of BA threads in metric units are 10BA = 1.5mm 8BA = 2mm 6BA = 2.5mm 4BA = 3mm 2BA = 5mm and 0BA = 6mm. The odd BA sizes are normally regarded as electrical threads and are used in terminal block etc.

    I hope this is helpfull

    Ray
