Lego Tanks!

OK OK!

They might not be exactly scale but how great is this?

If anyone here remembers days back then, when Lego refused to make war toys and didn't make any kits with guns, swords or anything more dangerous than a walkie talkie or a shovel, then this has got to be the Lego set you always dreamt of as a kid!

LEGO TIGER TANK!

its lego, just put it back together !

the one thing is even though lego dont sell a kit of a tank, anyone with the time and creativity can create it !

versatile stuff !

Have I got this wrong? This isn't a Lego supplied set it is simply a model that someone has made from Lego?

From what I can see Richard, these are specialised Lego Kits from a different supplier other than Lego themselves, the prices will certainly give a clue to that. Having said that, they are nice looking models too.

I can only agree with Guy's answer though, even though Lego never made such kits, they never had to...Lego has always been what you make of it !!

Having had loads of the stuff as a kid including the trains and track layouts, I used to spend many happy hours building all sorts. I do remember building a large SeaKing based helicopter as a kid, the main rotors were powered with a lego motor and the tail rotor driven from that with a few elastic bands. The cockpit used to light up too with a lego light block.

Happy Days !!

Regards........Mark.

these are definately not distributed by LEGO, they are not endorsed by LEGO either, but there is growing AFOL community ( AFOL - adult fan of LEGO) who are developing their own designs for LEGO sets, everything from pretty accurate Trains to run on the LEGO track to robots and scifi models throught to military hardware as you see with the tanks....

LEGO branded shops like those in bluewater, milton keynes and those that were in brighton and birmingham have led to an increase in 'pick a brick' sales, basically a pick n mix way of buying unusual parts so you can build your own stuff- the downside of pick a brick is the £45 a kg price tag....
that is the reason these tanks are costly....

we have a pick 'n' mix selection here at windsor, which will grow for 2008 season- we also plan to increase the ordering process so that harder to obtain parts can be ordered processed and delivered direct to the end consumer- so hopefully more of these ' scale type' LEGO models will appear in the forthcoming years !
