well to give the Chiropractors credit, he is a doctor (well he has a phd, not sure what in though :S) the treatment is only 3 weeks long, so anything that troubles me after that or if this dosnt go away then i will go to the doctors.

i would have gone to the doctors today but knowing they would just refure me to a chiropracters anyway.

That TENS machine sounds a bit like a cattle prod or a police Tazer!

anyone ever had a bad back?
Yep mate sorry your suffering but unfortunatly your not by yourself I have been laid for close to 20 years sometimes I have to go back in the wheelchair the hardest thing is accepting the words "Thats the way you are now accept it and get on with life" but its still not easy
Just do what you can when you can then ask for help with what you can't do
But dont struggle and hurt your self more

I wouldn't start panicking yet, RJ. If you get a back problem you are not necessarily gonna be stuck with it for life (though judging by parlous state of the backs of the other contributors to this thread, you'd think it was non-recoverable).

My wife suffers periodically from pretty bad back pain. As someone else said, a good mattress is a wise investment and trying to maintain good general posture is important (watch out while your watching the telly) .

I'm sorry to hear that you other guys are suffering so badly - I wish you all well!

It sounds like a lot of the members on here are falling to bits!

I hope it isn't a symptom of being bent over a desk painting those little 1/72 Airfix pilot figures with a 000 sable paintbrush as children!
