| Yes very real,they are highly modified STOL machines from stock airframes,the one that taxies past is a Davis Special converted from a Husky light aircraft,the wings have special high lift sections,slots and look at those doughnut tyres ! there is another sequence where they land onto a river bed with rocks etc,the tyres are called Tundra's.
That looks like a special contest for this type of aircraft,they run up on the brakes,lift the tail and let loose,the danger is striking the prop on the runway !
