Hmmm....scrape/burn off 30 years of Admiralty paint from 9/10ths of flight-deck. Think they painted it every year ! `Glass same. Fit landing lights to "black-line". Fit take-off guide along it (inverted curtain rail). Fit floodable ballast tanks. Find "near enough scale" but real navigation lights. Learn to fly mini-helicopter (if Santa is good to me). Endless practice on concrete carrier deck in the heather with styro Sopwiths... Oh yes make more blades for my o/d Weir autogyro. No guesses why ! Been heaven today flying with geese and buzzards, the latter show us where the thermals are.

You know what they say about the Army/Navy/Air Force Duncan ? if it moves then salute it,if it stands still then paint it ! My son was in the Army Air Corps and said they used to paint the landrovers monthly, take them out on exercises and scratch them, then bring them back and give them a coat of paint.
They must get through a few gallons of paint.
What about a Lynx on a clear grease pole attached to the deck ? you could then hover nicely as you sailed out and I doubt whether you would see the pole from a distance.

Yeah I know of a group special forces that used to train in the Highlands with small craft, they arrived on various vehicles, have a damned good boozy few days, flog some "red petrol" to locals and just prior to leaving threw some buckets of water over the boats so they would look as if they had been used. One of the mob said he thought there could have been bird nests in the boats for all he knew. This will be denied if ever "a man in dark glasses" arrives at my door. (More likely kick it in at 4am ! ) New helicopters, not Lynx but Merlins EH101 , the Navys replacement for Sea Kings. Dont like greasy pole idea but two out over stern quarters as if flying in formation with ship would look good. Stiff piano wire supports to give a little movement up and down.

Yes that sounds a better proposition, sideways on with no visible wire at that angle.
That sounds like the matloes !

Here is a couple of shots of my Bell 230UT that I mentioned, It's a bit dusty having lived in the loft for a while but will soon sort that out.

I have found some excellent building photos on the web for same machine so will be using these as a guide for scale details etc.

Once done, this will be fitted onto Kalt Mechanics with nice Scale wide weighted Kevlar Blades.

Regards.......Mark.

Great project Mark,I have a Squirrel shell on a Shuttle with Irvine 36,smooth as silk and looks superb in the air,I dont throw my helicopters around got no time for that sort of flying, would rather see a nice towering take off,off into the blue with a few smooth circuits and a realistic scale landing to finish off with, this looks far more impressive than cutting the grass flying inverted as they do.
It is the same with fixed wing better to see the model taxy out, open up lift the tail and a nice steady climb with a properly executed circuit and landing.

I hope to make a substantial amount of headway on my Envoy tug, as well as build a plug for 1/16th scale TID tug to be powered by live steam . Once the plug is completed, I shall give to a friend who will then make a mold .
Fortunately, my employer spends winters in Florida, which affords me a fair amount of free time .
