| | Scale Model Member | Because I make no secret of my hobby, and I often get a ribbing from my younger colleagues, (I had to explain the difference between Trainspotters and model rail enthusiasts, and the 'anorak'...) I would say that a modeller's lifestyle can often give one that well-needed solitude and concentration that little else can parallel.
Finding like minds on this forum, with a huge amount of constructive comment, humour and such wide scope gives us something worthwhile to contribute to which is "ours", and it's tax-free!!!
More power to our collective elbows!!!
Jules.
"Give us the tools, and we'll finish the model" (Churchill crossed out the word model, and inserted 'job', but we know what he meant really...) |

| Howdy Everyone, I went back to work Monday, and tuesday Totalled out my truck by hitting 1 of 5 Deer that decided they wanted to cross the Highway I was travelling on, so I didnt make it on the forum yesterday either. But, Today, wednesday I am here, Five (5) days after posting that we had 4,906 members. In those five days we have gained over 100 new members.....that is an amazing rate of new members. There seems to be something here in this forum that attracts new members. Personally, i would attribute this to our founder, John and the membership of the forum itself. Nothing makes people want to become part of a group more than seeing others enjoying being part of that group. So, since I actually missed the 5,000th member, I just wanted to say once more to John and the rest of the membership "You have all done really well in making this a very attractive site to all who view it. Each and every person here should be proud of the fact that "we" make this site what it is." Anyway, again, sorry I missed the 5,000th member, but at this rate, we might hit the 10,000 member mark by March of 2009 (50 weeks @ 100/week=5000 more members). have a good day and Congratulations to John and every member of the forum on making the site what it is today. Greg |

| very true -
The main thing I have always noticed is the friendliness
and also no-one seems to unfairly criticise any modelling work
If you ever read some of the comments posted , eg on Youtube
it is absolutely gladiatorial and bitter
there is no petty name calling , slagging or disrespecting
one's own country -
you should be well aware what you have - a peaceful forum
best regards

| The great thing about this forum is it's diversity. It's not the typical Scale Model Forum for 1/35 Scale Tamiya AFV's circa 1939-1942.
We dont have a forum moderator who bans people for being off topic and we always have friendly responses from the members. There's a good banter on the site and also a huge amount of information. It's not just that we have a lot of members it's also that we have a core of members who've been here from the start and have made a huge contribution to the forums. It's a great resource and is of real benefit to new modellers who can ask for any help as they need it.
