BA thread sizes 14 / 16BA

I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find the thread on here (pardon the pun!) I'm after some really small machine screws - approx 1mm across threads. Does anyone have a reference with the dimensions of these smaller size screws? Also a reference for the size across the flats of a nut would be useful too!

Thanks in advance!

Alan

Hi Alan,

This site has a good chart for the BA screw sizes.

British Tools & Fasteners - BA Thread Profile

The standard hexagon size for any BA screw can be got by the following:

Screw OD x 1.75 = AF size.

This is one of the only thread forms to have a constant hex/OD relationship.

Screws of 12BA and larger can be readily found via the model engineering suppliers, often with one size smaller heads (e.g. 8BA with 9BA hex head) however, the smaller sizes are very hard to find now.

Small metric screws can be obtained via : -

Online shop ecommerce and shopping cart system from easywebstore

Hope this is of some help.

Regards.
