      Building hmcs snowberry help needed

      Hi everyone

i have just started my new project of the hmcs snowberry with r/c conversion.
i have glued up the hull , installed the prop-shaft and rudder and radio tray.

unfortunately today disaster struck and the back of the hull came apart and the fibreglass resin i had secured my rudder tube and radio tray has all come away and not adeared to the hull at all. i have cleaned it all away and restuck the back of the hull with liquid polly.

has anyone got any suggestion to wat i can use instead of the fibre glass or any other method of securing the bits and sealing the join in the hull ?

      help is very greatfull.

      regards
      mark

Try Araldite putty.Araldite Plumbers Putty from Halfords Price Nead the stuff together, press it in around the part you need reinforceing. Job done. There are other ways but thats the most simple and effective way.
Sounds like you might of had a bit of grease on the surfaces when you used the resin. Remember to clean the surfaces to be bonded with some form of spirit or thinners. NOT TURPENTIN as that in its self is pretty oily and can leave a film on the surface. Also rough up the surface a little with some course abrasive paper. (before you clean it.)

Thanks for that , totally slipped my mind to rough up the surfaces, i will try that first before the putty as i have lots of resin to use.
