Question Is this safe to delete ?

My Nortons firewall is constantly alerting me to LEXPS.EXE it also mentions c:/windows/system32/LEXPPS.EXE after doing a search sure enough this is sitting in the 'C' drive,a quick search on the net mentions that this is something connected to Lexmark printers as some kind of spyware ? I never have had a Lexmark printer and do not know how that got into my drive in the first place ?
The question is do I remove all traces of this as I do not want to disable anything that I should not be doing ? is the thing trying to link to my drive in some way ?
Over to someone more in the know on these irritating things.
Thank you.

Process File: lexpps or lexpps.exe
Process Name: Lexmark Printer Sharing

Description:
lexpps.exe is a Lexmark printer sharing application which allows you to share a printer over a network.

Author: Lexmark International Inc
Part Of: Lexmark Printer Sharing

System Process: No
Background Process: Yes
Uses Network: No
Hardware Related: No
Common Errors: N/A

Security Risk (0-5): 0
Virus: No
Spyware: No
Trojan: No

Remove/Block Process:

Always worth doing a google for a file name your not sure of, and it's not a good idea to just delete stuff without knowing what they are first, like Phoenix you can always rename them first if your not sure.

Also watch out for emails telling you to search for certain files and if you find them delete them, just ask Phoenix about them

Well a little while ago he got an email saying that a new virus had been found and not even virus checkers will pick it up, search for filename.exe (can't remember what it was called) it carried on to say if you find it delete it immediately, so he search and found it and deleted it, it was a hoax email and the file he deleted was a critical Windows file so the moral of this story is don't believe everything you read, do a bit of research first

I renamed that file with a 'BAK' after it and left it in the 'C' drive, since then the Nortons warning has not appeared,so do I just leave the file in place with the 'BAK' or delete this as well ?

If everything is working ok then you can delete it, but I would keep it there for a while just in case
