Problems with Force Feedback joystick.

Purchased one of these new Force Feedback joysticks for use with my Flightsim but I have a problem which perhaps someone can help me with ? I have configured it as per their software and it works fine in FS2004,however FS2002 does not seem to recognise the joystick ? well it did work once apart from the throttle but since then the earlier system just does not seem to recognise it for some strange reason ? I have made sure that joystick enabled/disabled is on,are there any other checks or areas that I can check this out.
When it did work I went into 'sensitivities' to make some adjustments but when I returned it has not worked since ?
Any ideas please.

Calibrating the Force Feedback Wingman 2

The problem of FS2002 not recognising the stick was due to the fact that in this system it needs more of a manual install and careful calibration, the following blow by blow account should assist anyone having the same problem-

A) Confirm that your game controller is assigned to Controller ID 1 or that it is the preferred device. Some games do not recognize game controllers that are not assigned to Controller ID 1.

To configure your game controller as the preferred device in Windows XP, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Printers and Other Hardware.
3. Click Game Controllers.
4. Click Advanced.
5. Under Preferred device, select the game controller that you want to use, and then click OK.
6. Click OK to close the Games Controllers dialog box.

B) Verify that Microsoft® Flight Simulator 2002 is set up to use a "joystick" type game controller:

1. Launch Microsoft® Flight Simulator 2002.
2. Click on "Settings".
3. This should bring up the "Controls" dialogue, and the "Enable Joystick" checkbox should be checked.
4. Click on the "Joystick Forces" button.
5. The "Enable Force Feedback" checkbox should be checked (If you want to enable forces).

C) Verify that Microsoft® Flight Simulator 2002 is setup to use the WingMan® game controller:

1. Launch Microsoft® Flight Simulator 2002.
2. Click on "Settings".
3. This should bring up the "Controls" dialogue. Click on the "Assignments" button.
4. This should bring up the "Controls-Assignments" dialogue. Select the "Joystick Axes" tab.

D) The following is the standard Axes settings to use a game controller with Microsoft® Flight Simulator 2002:

Ailerons Axis - X-Axis
Elevator Axis - Y-Axis
Rudder Axis - Rudder
Throttle Axis - Throttle

E) Microsoft has a couple of really useful Knowledge base articles on this game. You can find them at the following locations.
